How far would you go to find out the truth if your best friend met a tragic end? Avery Greer was asking herself this same question when her best friend Sadie Loman is found drowned after a jump from the cliffs in the small town of Littleport, Maine. The police and even Sadie’s family believe that she had committed suicide but Avery feels like something isn’t right.
When Avery is young her parents are killed in a terrible car accident and she is raised by her grandmother. Avery and Sadie first meet during one of the Loman’s house parties where Avery is working as a server. This takes place shortly after her grandmother passes away and she feels like she has no one. They become fast friends and spend all their time together even getting matching tattoos. Not long after Avery begins working for the Loman family as their property manager and spends her free time with Sadie during the summers that Sadie’s family comes to Littleport for their break.

After Sadie passes away Avery starts to notice strange things are happening in the vacation rentals that she manages and that everyone’s stories of the night that Sadie died are very different. I was surprised to see how Avery’s past and present all tied together and to find out the truth about the link between her parents, grandmother and the Loman family was shocking. I finished this book very quickly and enjoyed every second of it. I definitely recommend that you read this one.
