Reading books can be addictive. Books are written with such creativity, which can take your imagination to far away places. Authors have the ability to make you feel like you’re experiencing new and exciting things but they can also help get you through difficult times. Stories can make you laugh or cry and share hardships others have endured which makes you feel a little less alone in the world.
People closest to me know about my obsession with books. My passion came at a very early age. As a toddler, even before I knew how to read, I would hold a book and make up stories based on the pictures. These days I usually have at least two books going at one time, one of which is an audio book and the other a page turning novel. There is nothing I love more than curling up to read with cup of coffee or a glass of red wine to enjoy the next literary adventure I get to become a part of.
I have always been fascinated with criminal justice so I gravitate towards true crime, mystery, thrillers and autobiographies. I also enjoy reading many other types of books and remain open to all genres and recommendations. The list of some of my favorite books to date includes the following:
- The Witness | Nora Roberts
- The Passage Trilogy | Justin Cronin
- All Souls Trilogy | Deborah Harkness
I welcome all fellow book addicts, and future books addicts, to share opinions and participate in positive conversations about books that I’ve read and truly enjoyed and for others to recommend any great books that they couldn’t put down.
I hope you all appreciate these books as much as I have and I hope you experience the same joy, wonder and pleasure that I found in reading.
