Flight attendant Cassie Bowden is one hot mess!  Her crazy story begins when she wakes up after a one night stand in a hotel room in Dubai and realizes that her companion has been murdered while she slept.  Trying to think through her hangover she is terrified of being accused and ending up in prison in a foreign country. She attempts to wipe her existence from the room and heads back to her hotel without notifying anyone. She connects with the rest of the crew from her flight and leaves the country as quickly as possible.

Alex Sokolov (the deceased) was a hedge fund manager who has gotten himself into a precarious situation with some Russian investors. Cassie met him on her flight to Dubai. There was a definite connection between them on the plane and an invite to join him for dinner which ends up leading to a whole lot more than she bargained for. Very quickly into this story you start to realize that Cassie has a severe dependency on alcohol and is very promiscuous.  Her job takes her to all these beautiful places and she cannot avoid her weaknesses for booze and men in order to appreciate what’s around her.  Cassie had an alcoholic father and she did not learn from his mistakes but rather followed down his path in a way which I found very sad. I feel very sympathetic towards Cassie and her inability to make better decisions for herself.

Format: Paperback

When she finally arrives back in New York she is contacted by the FBI to come in for an interview based on reports of other flight attendants having seen her and Alex on the plane flirting heavily.  Between her job, wondering who killed Alex, the suspicion of the FBI, her heavy drinking and feeling like someone is following her she starts to feel like she’s losing her mind.  She starts questioning if she possibly may have killed Alex herself during her alcohol induced blackout.

I really enjoyed reading the book and could not have guessed how it would end but I think it was very well written and I could not put it down.  I would definitely recommend this book. Let me know what you think!
