This Valentines Day my husband and I were too busy with life/work/dogs and unable to make any plans for a romantic evening. Instead we decided to have a nice lunch together and celebrate on Sunday (which was better anyway to avoid being crammed in with tons of people on the day of love) and decided on Karl Strauss Brewing Company after much debate on where to go. I’m so glad we did!

From the moment we walked in we were greeted by very cheerful staff during this rainy and cloudy day. The atmosphere was very warm and lively and I was so looking forward to trying some of their beers. While I love the Red Trolley Ale (my husband and I always have a keg in our outdoor bar & kegerator) I wanted to try something new so I ordered their Columbia Street Amber and my husband ordered their Gaslamp Gold. Both beers were incredibly refreshing and so full of flavor.

We started off our meal with the Double Truffle Fries with parmesan, garlic, rosemary and a side of truffle aioli to dip them in. These fries are addicting and so delicious. My husband had their Big Beer Burger while I decided on the Fruit Salad which consisted of romaine and mixed greens accompanied by melon, watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapples and more. The dressing was light and flavorful and I added grilled chicken for some protein. They also have a nice patio area with fire pit tables for warmer and dryer days. Their restroom is also very clean which I always take into account.

Needless to say, we will definitely be going back to try some other items on their food and beer menu very soon. I would definitely recommend that you check it out and enjoy all they have to offer.
