I’m a sucker for a good post-apocalyptic book. Whether the apocalypse includes illnesses or zombies, I love reading about different scenarios of the end times. This book was very well written and really delved deep into the destruction human kind can create. This story follows several different people after a disease starts killing off millions of people around the world.

The story is about a deadly illness that breaks out all over the globe and there are very few people who are immune to the disease. Among the survivors are the characters of the book: Devon, Tess, Travis, Lori, Daryl and Cassidy. Along the way they discover how quickly law and order deteriorates and makes way for a new breed of person. There are groups that start taking other people as slaves, other people who take justice into their own hands and a new government trying to take control of the new population and way of life.

You quickly discover that the new government isn’t what it seems and there may be some real evil taking place under the ruse of safety and protection. I don’t want to give too much away but I recommend you read this book as I found it fascinating and it kept my interest all the way to the end.
